Where to drink coffee in Belgrade The main places with a specialty-coffee. January 2024

The culture of specialty coffee does not stand still, in recent years dozens of places have been opened in Belgrade, they care a lot about the quality of the drink and offer alternative methods of brewing, and some of them roast by themselves.

Przionica

Pržionica is located in the former industrial quarter and is one of the first specialty coffee shops in Belgrade with its own roasting section and coffee beans that can be bought for takeout. The atmosphere here is Berlin-like relaxed: a roasting machine operates in the depths of the space, baristas make improvised capping and the terrace is almost always full of visitors with dogs.

Fuka

One of Belgrade’s most advanced coffee shops is located in a modest pavilion at the Zemun market. But do not judge by the cover: the Fuka team has its own roastery, a range of coffee for home (the assortment changes almost monthly), fresh pastries and all kinds of alternatives: an excellent filter, a pour over and a cold brew. Among other things, you will find kombucha and drinks based on matcha.

D59B

One of the most progressive roasting companies in Belgrade with excellent coffee shop in the city center. Brick walls, white tiles, minimalist furniture and regular DJ sets on weekends create a purely Berlin atmosphere here. There are many options for alternative coffee: a Filter, a Pour over, and Chemex, and also a Cold brew that is sold in pretty branded bottles. And yes, they have beer here too.

Hotel Beograd

A very important coffee spot in the building of a closed hotel in the Savski Venac district. Some time ago the space on the ground floor was taken by coffee enthusiasts who run a pretty pace with good coffee and croissants. The roasting room of the team works nearby. In the coffee menu, in addition to the classics, there is an alternative — in particular, a filter (perhaps the best in the city). But the main thing worth going there is perfect croissants which are baked right here in the morning.

Kiosk

Belgrade minimalism as it is. This excellent coffee shop is really a kiosque: a luxurious stained glass window in an Art-deco building. Nearby on the sidewalk tables are placed, and since the weather in Serbia allows spending time on the terraces almost year round, this is a great option to start a day. Coffee is prepared from specialty beans, not only classics are made, but also seasonal coffee cocktails. And during the evenings they even serve sparkling wines, cocktails and rakia.

Way Cup

An elegant and fashionable coffee shop in Scandinavian style. Its obvious advantages are a large selection of alternative drinks — there are Chemex, filter coffee, pour over and cold brew. The less obvious ones are a prohibition on smoking and the ability to use a place as a mini-office. There is even a separate table along the wall with power sockets for comfort work on a computer.

Artist

The sweetest specialty coffee house in the Stari Grad district and one of the main city spots for lovers of V60 dripper and filter coffee. The team paid a lot of attention to details: for example, all the dishes are handmade. In addition to classics based on espresso and alternatives, there are coffee cocktails, desserts and sandwiches, as well as a good selection of tea.

A very beautiful coffee shop in Savski Venac. A place with a spectacular interior in the loft style, a mural by artist Lazar Pilejčić, and also a mini co-working space in the basement. Classic coffee based on espresso, Turkish coffee, as well as the line of unusual freshly squeezed juices are prepared here. For example, Healthy Mix made of beetroots, apples, carrots and oranges.

Coffee shop in Dorćol with a remarkable interior. A lot of retro details are used as a decoration: for example, armchairs and chairs in the style of the 1970s, the cutest chandeliers with lampshades made of multi-colored fabric and a turntable for vinyl records. The menu contains classic coffee drinks based on espresso, Turkish coffee, which is served in cezve, espresso tonic and espresso martini, as well as kombucha and craft beer.

Kafograf

The creators of the minimalist coffee shop in the city center, Rada and Ivan, combined the love of coffee and modern art in one project — and now not only they make excellent espresso made of beans roasted by themselves, but also arrange small art exhibitions. In addition to coffee, one can come round for a cup of tea, cocoa, drink a smoothie or a glass of beer.

Osam

A stylish coffee shop in Dorćol, which is opened by the team of the Moscow coffee shop “8/25”. A place in a minimalist Scandinavian style balances on the verge of a coffee shop and a bar, here they serve not only classics based on espresso, coffee drinks (like raf with lavender or vanilla) and matcha tea, but also alcoholic drinks, including excellent cocktails — from the classic Aperol Spritz to raspberry Barbie Gin Tonic.

Holy Beans

Holy Beans coffee bar is so small that it can be missed, but it is worth visiting: they are very serious about coffee here, using Brazilian 100% arabica, and even beans of single origin class. In addition to classic drinks based on espresso, there are customized drinks like Dirty Matcha Latte or Hangover Coffee. And especially we loved the place for the cutest glasses and cats that are everywhere here.

Užitak

One of Belgrade’s first specialty coffee shops, opened in 2014. The space is not very big, designed functionally and simple. The main value of the place is its own roasting machine and, of course, drinks that are prepared here. Among the interesting things — be sure to try the local cold-brew (black or with milk), and also take freshly roasted beans home.

Gir Café

One of the most beautiful coffee shops of the city works within the cognominal furniture showroom in New Belgrade. Gir Café is both a coffee shop and a bar: during the daytime you can drink a cup of great coffee, one of the home-made lemonade, freshly squeezed juices and eat a croissant or a sandwich. And in the evening — we go here for a cocktail: the menu has both classic and customized drinks in elegant glasses. And yes, we have to mention the interior: this is almost a museum of the trending minimalist design.

Koppa

The minimalist coffee shop in the Scandinavian style at a walking distance from the St. Sava cathedral. The main decoration is a mirror-glass bar counter and brutal concrete ceiling. There is a great selection of specialty coffee and they even have espresso tonic and drip coffee. Koppa also offers several dozen varieties of tea, freshly squeezed juices, craft beer, rakia and sells everything that is necessary to make coffee and tea at home.

Dusha

Cozy specialty coffee shop from the “Artist” team. Everything is accurate here: the place occupies a separate small house, the menu has high-quality coffee, there is a large selection of equipment and home appliances, unusual dishes and optimistic graffiti on the walls.

Caffico

The coffee shop (in fact, it is a small chain) belongs to “Mileks” — one of the oldest coffee companies in Serbia, which produces and sells good beans — both classics and specialty. Here you can not only drink coffee (including one cooked in the sand), but also buy all the necessary equipment and dishes for making drinks at home.
